1936 is a small company based in Switzerland. We work with the most passionate and experienced independent family brewer in the Swiss Alps to make our 1936 beer, from the purest water to the organic hops and golden barley from these beautiful and amazing mountains it really does prove that we use the finest ingredients in the world to make our beer.
1936 is a Swiss beer using and sourcing ingredients only within Switzerland. 1936 is free from any artificial preservatives, additives and sulphates. 1936 is a totally natural product and brewed with utmost precision. We are very proud of our beer and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do, you will taste the difference.
Our Brewery
The Brewery is set in Switzerland at the foot of the Swiss Alps and is owned by the Locher Family. They took over the Brewery back in 1886 and it has remained a family business until this day. They're famous for specialist beers like 1936 as well as traditional beers. These beers are still made by hand and in accordance with methods handed down through the generations and they have helped us create the perfect Swiss beer.
The brewery has long been famous for its innovative prowess in the development of new beers. It is now also a leader in the field of climate protection and is the first brewery in Switzerland to take an active lead in safeguarding the environment. In view of the fact that they are unable to prevent all emissions despite the implementation of environmental measures, they have committed themselves to balance their CO2 output in collaboration with myclimate.org, an internationally recognised non-profit organisation.

Our Water
The water which is the main ingredient in our 1936 beer is a very unique water, its low in Calcium and microbiologically perfect. This water is very pure and is a totally natural product which is sourced from the depths of the Swiss Alps.
It takes up to 25 years for the water to pass through the Swiss Alps to reach the water source. During this time the water goes through its mineralisation process, receives its trace elements, obtains its purity and develops its true unique identity. That's why our 1936 beer tastes so fresh and clean.
Our Hops & Barley
All our hops are organic and our Barley is grown at altitude so there are virtually no pesticides used. Another reason why our 1936 beer stands out from the rest and gives it a truly great fresh taste.
